Function
Important for maintaining strong bones and teeth. where it supports their structure and hardness. The body also needs calcium for muscles to move and for receptory movements in nerves.

Food sources
Calcium is mostly found in
- Milk products
- Kale
- Broccoli
- Fish with soft bones (Canned sardines and salmon)
- Chinese Cabbage
Deficiency
Calcium deficiency results in following issues
- Low bone mass (osteopenia)
- Convulsions in serious cases
- Numbness
- Tingling in the fingers
- Risks of osteoporosis and bone fractures
